We now have all the information about the India-spec model of the upcoming MG M9, a fully electric three-row premium MPV. As one of its premier electric products and the fifth EV for the Indian market, the vehicle was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2025 in New Delhi by JSW MG Motor. For a nominal fee of ₹51,000, reservations have been available since May 2025.
The M9 will be available for purchase alongside the Cyberster electric sports car through MG Select, the brand's high-end retail network. The Toyota Vellfire and Kia Carnival are some of its rivals in the premium MPV sector. Due to its CBU status, this model is anticipated to cost between ₹65–70 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the company's first people carrier in India.
MG M9: Battery and Range
With a 90 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the MG M9 EV has a claimed range of up to 500 kilometers on a single charge. The MPV can reach a maximum speed of 180 kmph thanks to the front-mounted electric engine, which produces 241 horsepower and 350 Newton meters of torque. According to MG, using an 11 kW charger, the battery may be fully charged from 5% to 100% in about 8.5 hours. The MG M9 also has DC rapid charging, which enables the battery to charge from 30% to 80% in only half an hour.
MG M9: Key design features
The MG M9 is a three-row, seven-seat vehicle with a trapezoidal front grille that is closed off and LED lighting on either side. It has 19-inch alloy wheels and a 3,200 mm wheelbase.
The M9 is 5,270 mm long, 2,000 mm wide, and 1,840 mm high, with three rows and seven seats. In addition to ventilation, heating, and massage capabilities, which are only available in the second-row seats of the base model, all seats in the first and second row of this variation also include these features. In India, the electric MPV will be available in the fully equipped top-spec variant known as the Presidential Limo. It will be available in three colors: Pearl Lustre White, Concrete Grey, and Metal Black. The cabin is upholstered in a cognac brown natural leather and suede mixture.
