The MG M9, an all-electric, three-row premium MPV, will debut in India on July 21. This flagship electric model from JSW MG Motor, which was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2025 in New Delhi, is the fifth EV that has been released for the Indian market. A modest deposit of Rs 51,000 has been required for reservations, which have been available since May 2025.

The Cyberster electric sports vehicle and the M9 will be available for purchase through MG Select, the brand's top retail network. It seeks to rival models in the luxury MPV market, such as the Kia Carnival and Toyota Vellfire. This is MG's first people transporter in India, and it is anticipated to cost between ₹65 and 70 lakh (ex-showroom) because it is a CBU import.

MG M9 EV: Battery and range

The projected range of the MG M9 EV is 500 kilometers on a single charge of its 90 kWh lithium-ion battery. Its front-mounted electric motor generates 241 horsepower and 350 Newton meters of torque, allowing for a maximum speed of 180 kilometers per hour. Using an 11 kW charger, the battery may be fully charged from 5% to 100% in approximately 8.5 hours. Additionally, it has DC rapid charging capabilities that can raise the battery level from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes.

The MG M9 EV's size and design

The M9 has three rows, seven seats, a wheelbase of 3,200 mm, and dimensions of 5,270 mm in length, 2,000 mm in width, and 1,840 mm in height, making it bigger than rivals like the Carnival and Vellfire. The design includes smooth LED headlights positioned on the bumper, linked LED DRLs above, and a closed trapezoidal front grille. It boasts rear LED taillights, an electric tailgate, a roof spoiler, electric sliding doors, and 19-inch alloy wheels fitted with self-healing Continental ContiSeal tires.

Variants and colors of the MG M9 EV

The M9 EV is available in two models worldwide. Although they both have comparable safety and performance features, the highest model includes natural leather upholstery, electronically adjustable ottoman seats in the second row, and ventilation, heating, and massage functions for both the front and rear row seats.

The Presidential Limo, the fully equipped top model of the MPV, will be the only one offered in India. The interior will be finished in a mix of cognac brown leather and suede, and the outside will be available in Concrete Grey, Pearl Lustre White, and Metal Black.

Inside and outside the MG M9 EV

A touchscreen on the handrail controls the three-zone climate control system, the heated, cooled, and massage-equipped 2nd-row ottoman seats. The cabin is made more airy by the Chamois-wrapped dual-pane sunroof, while the rear passengers each have their own entertainment screens.

The MPV has a simple dashboard with two displays in the front: a 12.3-inch infotainment screen and a 7-inch instrument cluster. A touch-sensitive panel located beneath the infotainment screen houses the HVAC controls. With cupholders, a wireless charger, and under-arm storage, the center console is floating. The front seats are both electronically adjustable and include 4-way lumbar support and ventilation.

MG M9 EV: Safety features

The M9 includes TPMS, ABS, ESP with auto hold, and seven airbags. It also features an ADAS package with a 360-degree surround view monitor, adaptive cruise control, integrated cruise assist, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping aids, and a speed assist system. It has received five-star ratings in crash testing conducted by European and Australian NCAP, but it has not yet been tested by Bharat NCAP.
