Cost and availability

The all-new M9 EV, a premium electric MPV, was introduced by JSW MG Motor India at a base price of Rs 69.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The first deliveries are planned for August 10. The M9, which is the first product under MG's new premium MG Select brand, is positioned as a direct competitor to high-end MPVs like the Kia Carnival and Toyota Vellfire. It will be sold alongside models like the MG Cyberster through its premium dealership network.

Charging and range

The M9 EV's 90 kWh lithium-ion battery provides a remarkable 500 kilometers of range on a single charge. The front-mounted electric motor generates 241 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, giving it a maximum speed of 180 km/h. It includes DC quick charging, which charges the battery from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes, as well as 11 kW AC charging (0% to 100% in 8.5 hours).

Dimensions

The M9 has three rows of seats for seven people and is bigger than its main competitors, with a length of 5,270 mm and a wheelbase of 3,200 mm. Its premium road presence is enhanced by styling features like 19-inch alloy wheels with self-healing tires, an electric sliding door, a trapezoidal closed grille, linked LED DRLs, a powered tailgate, a roof spoiler, and stylish LED taillights.

Features and color choices

The completely equipped 'Presidential Limo' trim will be the only one available from MG in India. The M9's interior features a cognac brown leather and suede interior that is available in Metal Black, Concrete Grey, and Pearl Lustre White. Individual entertainment displays and a Chamois-covered panoramic sunroof enhance rear-seat comfort, while the second row features electrically adjustable ottoman seats with ventilation, heating, and massage.

Features for safety

The M9 EV prioritizes safety with seven airbags, ABS, ESP, TPMS, and a comprehensive package of ADAS technologies, such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and Lane Keep Assist. Its credentials are further supported by an integrated cruise assist, speed assist system, and 360-degree surround-view camera. It has received five-star safety ratings from Euro NCAP and ANCAP as it waits for the results of Bharat NCAP testing.
