Hyundai Sells 60,924 Vehicles in June 2025, SUVs Account for 67.6% of Domestic Sales

Total sales for Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) in June 2025 were 60,924 units, with 16,900 units being exported and 44,024 units sold domestically. Total domestic sales remained stable despite headwinds associated with macroeconomic and geopolitical indicators, with SUVs still holding the majority and remaining resilient.
As evidence of growing consumer preference for high-riding, feature-packed vehicles across segments, the firm reiterated that SUVs made up 67.6% of its total domestic sales in June.
Over a quarter of all sales are accounted for by exports in Q1 FY26.
For the first three months of FY26 (April–June 2025), Hyundai's overall sales totaled 1,80,399 units, with 1,32,259 units sold in the United States and 48,140 units exported. When the business transported 42,600 units abroad in Q1 FY25, exports increased by 13% year over year.
As a result, Hyundai's exports increased from 22.2% of total sales in the first quarter of last year to 26.7% in the first quarter of this year. In spite of a careful domestic demand environment, Hyundai's two-pronged market approach and robustness in foreign markets are supported by the expanding export contribution.
The outlook for the home market is that SUV sales will remain constant as consumer sentiment continues to be divided.
Although the domestic market has some friction, SUVs like the Creta, Venue, Exter, and Tucson have maintained their position. The SUV market, which makes up more than two-thirds of Hyundai's June domestic sales, continues to make up for some of the weakness in the hatchback and sedan markets.
Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and COO of HMIL, noted the influence of the worldwide geopolitical instability and cautious consumer attitudes in his remarks about the performance. Nevertheless, he pointed out that future increases in capacity at Hyundai's Talegaon factory, along with recent changes in monetary policy (repo rate and CRR cuts), may help drive a slow rebound in demand in the future.
Hyundai is well-positioned to weather current uncertainties and pave the way for recovery in the second half of the fiscal year thanks to its steady lineup of SUVs, increasing export momentum, and plans to increase production capacity in the near future. The firm continues to maintain a balanced position, concentrating on providing value in both local and foreign markets.
