On social media, Honda Cars India has posted a teaser video for the soon-to-be-released Honda City Sport sedan. In the next few days, the automaker plans to release this new sedan model. However, the sedan's Sport edition is expected to get just cosmetic improvements, leaving the mechanical components untouched. The statement, "Read to live a sportier life? Stay tuned," was added by the manufacturer to suggest that the new version will have features that give the sedan a more athletic appearance.
In order to boost sales, the maker has been introducing a variety of different versions of its automobiles, including the City Sport Edition. Learn about the upcoming version of the sedan by reading more.
What's New with the Honda City Sport?
The Sport version will probably only have aesthetic enhancements. Some of these will have features like a "Sport" badge, a black boot lip spoiler, a blacked-out grille, blacked-out wing mirrors, and a completely dark-themed interior with a black roof liner.
Honda City Sport: engine and performance
There have been no mechanical modifications made by Honda to the City Sport Edition. It will still have its tried and tested 1.5-liter i-VTEC gasoline engine, which produces 119 horsepower and 145 Nm of peak torque. The wheels are driven by this engine via either a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-step CVT automatic.
Fuel economy: Honda City Sport
The fuel economy of the Honda City Sport Edition will be comparable to that of the regular City model because there are no mechanical modifications. With the manual transmission, the sedan achieves a fuel economy of 17.8 kilometers per liter, and with the automatic transmission, it achieves a fuel economy of 18.4 kilometers per liter. All the values listed are approved by ARAI.
Honda City Sport: Price expectations
The price of the Honda City Sport model is probably going to be more than that of the basic model. The current base SV Petrol MT trim of the regular Honda City is priced at ₹12.38 lakh (ex-showroom), while the ZX Petrol CVT trim costs ₹16.65 lakh (ex-showroom). The Sport model of this vehicle, however, may cost an interested buyer an additional ₹25,000 to ₹35,000.
