The premium cruiser Rebel 500 from Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India is now available in cities like Indore and Gurugram. The Honda Rebel 500, which has a starting price of ₹5.12 lakh, was introduced to the Indian market in May. BigWing Topline stores sell the high-end cruiser motorbike, which competes with models like the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 and Kawasaki Eliminator.
Engine and Performance of the Honda Rebel 500
The liquid-cooled, parallel twin engine that Honda employs has a displacement of 471 cc, produces a maximum horsepower of 45 at 8,500 rpm, and a maximum torque of 43.3 Nm at 6,000 rpm. A 6-speed gearbox with a chain drive sends the power to the rear wheel. The bike is ideal for city commuting and smooth motorway riding since the setup prioritizes torque at the low and mid range.
The drivetrain has an 8-valve DOHC configuration, which is intended to provide a smooth and linear power delivery throughout the rev range. The bike also features a short, low-mounted exhaust system that adds to its overall compact appearance.
Highlights of the Honda Rebel 500:
A full LED lighting system, complete with a circular headlamp that enhances the bike's retro appearance, is included. The dashboard includes an inverted LCD display that shows important ride data like speed, gear position, and fuel level.
The fuel tank's steep angle, the handlebars' breadth, and the sparse use of body paint all contribute to the stripped-down bobber look. At the time of its debut, the bike will only be offered in a solo-plus pillion configuration, with no further models expected.
