KTM's reconstruction is led by Bajaj Auto.

Bajaj Auto Limited has recently stated its goal to acquire a majority stake in the legendary Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM. Regulatory approvals are still awaited for this plan, which is being routed through Bajaj Auto International Holdings BV (BAIHBV), its wholly owned subsidiary.

Prior to this, Bajaj had a 37.5% indirect ownership in KTM through a complicated arrangement involving several organizations, most notably Pierer Bajaj AG (PBAG) and Pierer Mobility AG (PMAG). Bajaj is in a position to move from being a silent partner to a major decision-maker in KTM's future with the planned takeover of majority control in PBAG.
