Ducati Desmo450 MX Begins Production—All You Need to Know

At the Borgo Panigale plant in Italy, where the motorcycle manufacturer is located, the Ducati Desmo450 MX is now being produced. The first Desmo450 MX rolled out of manufacturing after Jeremy Seewer took his second global podium at the French Grand Prix. The company's first motocross bike is the Desmo450 MX.

Tony Cairoli and Alessandro Lupino created the motocross bike for racing. Currently, Ducati has no intention of launching the Desmo450 in the Indian market since there is little demand for motocross bikes in India. "We looked around, searching for the important unique aspects of our business culture and discovering what I think defines Ducati like perhaps no other company: the close proximity between the world of racing and that of production motorcycles," said Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati. And realizing simultaneously that we have a fantastic internal resource in the form of a large number of off-road aficionados throughout the organization. As a result of all of this, we have been able to offer the Desmo450 MX, a straightforward and high-performing motorcycle for both beginners and experts.


The motor of the Ducati Desmo450 MX

The single-cylinder 449.6cc engine of the Ducati Desmo450 MX uses Desmodromic valves. Its maximum power output is 62 horsepower at 9,400 rpm, and its maximum torque production is 53.5 Nm at 7,500 rpm. The rev-limiter is set to 11,900 RPM. It features a 5-speed gearbox with quickshifter that is used exclusively for upshifts.

Hardware for the Ducati Desmo450 MX

The Desmo450 MX is supported by an aluminum perimeter frame made by Ducati. The frame is supported by a monoshock in the rear and 49 mm inverted forks in the front. The front has 310 mm of travel, whereas the back has 301 mm of movement. The suspension system may be adjusted, of course. The front brakes are controlled by a two-piston floating caliper, while the rear brakes are controlled by a single-piston caliper.

The front and rear Galfer brake discs are 260 mm and 240 mm, respectively. The front and rear wheels of the motorbike are 21 inches and 19 inches in diameter, respectively, and are equipped with Pirelli Scorpion MX32 Mid-Soft tires.
