The national capital's persistent traffic congestion issues have finally been addressed by the Delhi government's plan, which is worth ₹24,000 crore. Nine significant infrastructure projects totaling Rs 24,000 crore have been approved by the Delhi government and the Central government. This represents a major advancement in addressing the issues of traffic congestion and environmental pollution in the nation's capital.

Numerous projects will be carried out as part of this infrastructure development strategy aimed at reducing Delhi's traffic congestion. The government intends to construct tunnels, flyovers, subway extensions, and new roadways in Delhi-NCR in order to shorten travel times, lower pollution levels, and improve daily commutes for the millions of people living in the area, according to an NDTV report. The report also predicted that every one of these initiatives will be finished by 2027, with the work set to begin in stages beginning in 2025. The permission is part of a cooperative endeavor to improve Delhi's worst traffic bottlenecks and increase the availability of public transportation in the city.

The government plans to construct new roads, tunnels, bridges, and other infrastructure

A 12.3 km expansion of the Pink Line Metro from Majlis Park to Maujpur is one of the most publicized projects among those listed above. The Pink Line will be finished and a metro ring road will be built during this last leg. It is said that this enables travelers to go throughout Delhi without changing lines or walking out into the busy streets.

A new elevated route has been approved in South Delhi between the AIIMS and the Mahipalpur bypass, allowing for the quickest possible airport access. The goal of this is to significantly help those who commute between IGI Airport, Dhaula Kuan, and South Extension.

A five-kilometer tunnel linking Shiv Murti to Vasant Kunj, which would connect the National Highway 48 (NH48) to Mahipalpur and Vasant Kunj, is another approved project. With significant vehicular movement, this is predicted to alleviate traffic bottlenecks at several locations.

In addition to these, the massive rehabilitation effort will also take place in outer Delhi. To facilitate the flow of heavy vehicles, a scheme has been developed to construct flyovers and underpasses on the Gurugram-Jaipur Highway and Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II). The government has also authorized the construction of new roads connecting Rohini, Narela, and Bawana in order to enhance connectivity in the region's fast-growing residential and industrial sectors.
