The Toyota Innova Hycross recently earned a five-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP (BNCAP) crash tests. In the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Child Occupant Protection (COP) categories, the premium Toyota MPV received 30.47 out of a possible 32 points and 45 out of a possible 49 points, respectively. The Innova Hycross received five-star safety ratings in both categories due to its excellent points. According to Bharat NCAP, the Toyota Innova Hycross's best-equipped seven-seater hybrid model underwent the crash tests.

The Toyota MPV, a more upscale version of the Innova Crysta, comes with either a gasoline-only or gasoline-hybrid drivetrain. The petrol-only model comes in seven- and eight-seater layouts and three trim levels: GX(O), GX, and G-SLF. In contrast, the petrol-hybrid Innova Hycross model comes in four trim options: VX, VX(O), ZX, and ZX(O). The ZX and ZX(O) trims are exclusively available in a seven-seater setup, but the VX and VX(O) trims are available in both seven and eight-seater configurations.

A 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine and a Ni-MH (Nickel Metal Hydride) battery pack power the Toyota Innova Hycross petrol-hybrid model. The engine is able to produce a maximum torque of 191 Nm and a peak power of 181 bhp. The electric motor in the MPV is capable of producing 206 Nm of torque.

The MPV is packed with a ton of safety equipment. The Innova Hycross's five-star safety rating at the Bharat NCAP crash tests is partially attributable to these safety measures. The high safety score for the MPV was also influenced by the strong construction quality in addition to the cutting-edge safety measures.

Toyota Innova Hycross: Key safety features

The Toyota Innova Hycross MPV's highest-spec ZS(O) trim is jam-packed with cutting-edge safety features. The Toyota Safety Sense System, which includes Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Trace Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Monitor, Pre-Collision System, and Auto High Beam, is one of the most important safety features.

It also includes six airbags for the driver, front passenger, front side, and curtain shield. Additional safety features include the Child Restraint System (CRS), Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS), seat belt reminder for the second and third rows, reverse parking camera, front and rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) with auto hold function, panoramic view monitor with dynamic back guide, Hill Start Assist (HSA), and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC).
