Over a million units of the BYD Atto 3 have been sold worldwide. The Yuan Plus is another name for the model in China, and it became available in February 2022. The model took around 31 months to sell a million units, demonstrating steady demand across a number of international markets.

The local market produced an initial sales drive in the first 14 months with the sale of about 300,000 units in China. In the six months that followed, an additional 200,000 pieces were sent out. With the rise in exports to more than 100 nations, the remaining half million units were transferred over the following 25 months.

The one million mark was reached in roughly 1,391 days, which translates to an average of about 719 units sold each day. BYD has not published detailed breakdowns by region, even though the data suggests that there was widespread acceptance.

Pricing differences for the BYD Atto 3 in various markets

The Yuan Plus costs ¥115,800 in China, which is around ₹13.97 lakh. The Indian-spec Atto 3, which debuted in November 2022, on the other hand, has an ex-showroom starting price of ₹24.99 lakh. As of yet, BYD has made no plans for producing the Atto 3 in India.

The base model, the BYD Atto 3 Dynamic, has an ex-showroom price of ₹24.99 lakh. The mid-range model, the BYD Atto 3 Premium, has an ex-showroom price of ₹29.85 lakh, while the top-spec BYD Atto 3 Superior has an ex-showroom price of ₹33.99 lakh.

The BYD Atto 3: Attributes and Specs

The BYD Atto 3 is powered by LFP battery packs with capacities of 49.92 kWh and 60.48 kWh. The EV claims to have a range of 468 kilometers on a single charge from the smaller battery pack, and 521 kilometers on a full charge from the larger one.

Compared to the Superior model, the BYD Atto 3 Dynamic model lacks an eight-speaker sound system, an electric tailgate, ambient lighting, and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The mid-trim Atto 3 Premium, however, has adaptive headlights, which are also absent from the Dynamic model. The base model, on the other hand, has a 360-degree holographic imaging system, a panoramic sunroof, and seven airbags.

On the other extreme, the BYD Atto 3 Superior model includes a comprehensive array of cutting-edge features. It offers a more upscale and premium driving experience with its electric tailgate, Level 2 ADAS, eight-speaker sound system, and ambient lighting.
