The automotive industry is undergoing rapid change, making it difficult to keep up with all the latest advancements. We at HT Auto are dedicated to bringing you the most current and relevant news as it breaks. The following is a quick rundown of the key events that took place on Thursday, May 29.
The TVS Jupiter 125 DT SXC was released.
The Jupiter 125 DT SXC (Dual-tone SmartXonnect) from TVS Motor Company, which has aesthetic improvements and an extra set of features over other models, is now available at ₹88,942 (ex-showroom). The SmartXonnect model of the Jupiter was introduced by TVS in 2023. This new version of the Jupiter 125 offers a few cosmetic changes, even if the majority of the design aspects are the same as those of other variants.
Notably, it is now available in two new dual-tone colors called Ivory Brown and Ivory Grey. In addition, the redesigned one-piece seat's color is complemented by the dual-tone interior panels that the manufacturer has added. Additionally, it features 3D logos, diamond-cut alloy wheels, a white body-colored grab rail, and a unique LED headlight. This places the scooter in direct competition with the Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access 125, and other similar models.

With the most electric vehicles, Uttar Pradesh ranks as the leading state.
The most registered electric vehicles in India are in Uttar Pradesh. The state now has 4.14 lakh registered electric cars, surpassing both Delhi and Maharashtra. In contrast, Maharashtra has 1.79 lakh registered EVs, whereas Delhi has 1.83 lakh. The adoption of electric cars in these states is mostly driven by the EV rules established by the state governments in question, as well as the central government's FAME programs.
The PTI report indicates that Uttar Pradesh has also benefited the most from the Center's FAME I and FAME II (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles in India) projects, which support the state's efforts to promote electric mobility. The UP government has unveiled its own Electric Vehicle Manufacturing and Mobility Policy 2022, which aims to accelerate the use of EVs and develop a robust charging infrastructure. The goal of the UP government's EV policy is to create 10 lakh employment in the electric mobility industry and draw a ₹30,000 crore investment.
Clavis EV of the Kia Carens was seen in front of its release.
The soon-to-be-released all-electric version of the Carens Clavis has been announced by Kia India. This announcement was made at the unveiling of the Carens Clavis, indicating that the brand intends to introduce the Carens Clavis in the Indian market later this year, and it is expected to be the most affordable electric vehicle in the Kia lineup.
