2025 Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z: Top 5 Customer-Driven Changes Revealed

1 Better engine

Although the Pulsar NS400Z retains the KTM-sourced 373cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, Bajaj has implemented several internal changes. The use of a new forged piston, which lowers internal friction and increases thermal stability—both of which are essential for high-performance street applications—is made possible by updated valve timings and intake ducting, which improve airflow. As a consequence of these modifications, there is a marked improvement in performance: the engine now generates 43 PS, up from 40 PS, and the torque is still powerful and usable throughout the midrange. In addition to enhancing raw power, these modifications also result in a more responsive throttle and increased engine dependability over time.

2 Improved efficiency

The prior edition's performance data has seen a marked improvement. The 0 to 60 kmph sprint now takes only 2.7 seconds, whereas it used to take 3.2 seconds, and the 0 to 100 kmph run is completed in 6.4 seconds, compared to 7.5 seconds previously. The NS400Z is now more capable on highways thanks to its top speed of 157 kmph. Bajaj also asserts that these gains have been made without sacrificing fuel efficiency, a crucial factor for regular drivers who want both excitement and practicality.

3 enhanced tires

Bajaj has improved the tires to Apollo Alpha H1 radials, renowned for their exceptional grip and high-speed stability, in order to support the increase in power. With a wider 150-section, the rear tire now provides greater stability when cornering and feels more grounded at lean angles. These tires also enhance braking performance and aid with stability in a straight line at high speeds, particularly on slick or bumpy roads. Riders who push the bike hard through twisty roads or on track days will especially value this upgrade.

4 Two-Way Rapid Shifters

The 2025 NS400Z includes a bi-directional quickshifter, which is a first for the Pulsar lineup. This system, which was co-developed with Bosch, enables clutch-less, full-throttle gear changes, improving both convenience and performance. But it's only accessible in Sport mode, which keeps casual city riding smooth and regulated, but allows aggressive riders to take advantage of its advantages as necessary. This mode-dependent strategy ensures that the bicycle remains adaptable and appeals to both commuters and enthusiastic riders.

5 Enhanced stopping

This update also covers braking performance. The Pulsar NS400Z currently has sintered brake pads, which provide increased heat dissipation and more reliable stopping power during severe braking. For riders who like to ride quickly or take on mountainous terrain, these pads are made to keep performance during numerous severe stops, minimize brake fade, and provide a better grip. When combined with the current dual-channel ABS system, this upgrade improves safety and control.
