Ravindra Jadeja's recent form has sparked some serious worries, even though he's been known as one of India's go-to all-rounders for a long time. While Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been in the spotlight for their performances during India's 1-3 Test series loss to Australia, Jadeja's ups and downs have mostly gone unnoticed.

In his three Tests in Australia, Jadeja managed to take only 4 wickets but did contribute with the bat, scoring 135 runs at an average of 27, including a half-century.

A report from the Times of India has surfaced, indicating that Jadeja's future might be uncertain, as the BCCI is planning to evaluate his position for the upcoming international seasons. A source mentioned that the selection committee is seriously thinking about moving on from the seasoned spinner.

“It’s really about when the selectors feel it’s time for a change,” the source said. “They’ll weigh whether to stick with the reliable Jadeja or make a shift now.”

Even though he has a solid place in India’s Test and ODI teams, Jadeja's performances are being closely examined, particularly in the shorter formats.

“Even in Test matches, he’s had a hard time finding his rhythm, although his bowling has been consistent,” the source added. “There’s a growing desire to transition away from him, especially in ODIs. It’s going to be a tough decision in the near future.”

Jadeja's spot in the Test team seems pretty safe for now, especially with the England tour coming up. The selectors are still looking at him for the series because the middle order could use some more experience.

A source mentioned, "Jadeja is still in the mix for the England tour since the middle order lacks experience."

However, there's growing pressure as India gears up for the 2027 ODI World Cup. Head coach Gautam Gambhir is eager to establish a solid foundation for the tournament and wants to give younger players a chance to shine.

As for the upcoming Champions Trophy, the selectors are aware that the pitches in Dubai usually favor slow bowlers, which could benefit Jadeja. Still, with changes on the horizon for Indian cricket, deciding Jadeja's role in the ODI setup will be a crucial choice soon.
