Regaining top form in the rain-curtailed encounter between former champions Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians, opener Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed his second century of the Indian Premier League to help Sanju Samson and Co. record their seventh win of the new season. Indian opener Jaiswal returned to scoring ways with his first century of the 2024 season as RR crushed MI by nine wickets in match No.38 of the IPL 2024 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Jaiswal remained unbeaten on 104 off 60 balls as Samson's RR side chased down the 180-run target in 18.4 overs. While Jaiswal top-scored for the Rajasthan Royals, skipper Samson chipped in with a 38-run knock against the five-time winners. RR opener Jaiswal has taken the 22nd spot in the Orange Cap standings following his batting masterclass against Hardik Pandya's men.

Jaiswal has scored 225 runs in eight games for the 2008 champions this season. His opening partner, Jos Buttler, is ranked ninth in the Orange Cap standings with 285 runs in seven games. Buttler scored 35 off 25 balls in RR's comfortable win over MI at Jaipur. Mumbai Indians power-hitter Tilak Varma has climbed to the 10th spot after his crucial knock against RR. Varma smashed 65 off 45 balls to help MI post 179-9 in 20 overs.

Former MI skipper Rohit Sharma, who was dismissed for 6 off 5 balls, has slipped to the fifth spot in the Orange Cap standings. RR skipper Samson is six runs behind Riyan Parag, who didn't get to bat in the recently concluded encounter. Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper Virat Kohli has extended his stay at the top. After 38 games of the new season, Kohli is the leading run-getter in the IPL 2024 with 379 runs under his belt.
