'Squid Game' actor Lee Jung Jae finds strength in BTS' Jungkook's song 'Standing Next to You'

When discussing South Korea, many things come to mind, whether it's one of the leading mobile companies or car manufacturers, or even K-pop, K-drama, and K-beauty. However, one standout factor is the boost the country has experienced since the boy band BTS exploded onto the global scene, significantly increasing tourism. Additionally, the Netflix show 'Squid Game' proved to be a game-changer as well, attracting numerous fans to the world of K-dramas.

As preparations for the show's second season are in full swing, recently, the South Korean entertainment agency Artist Company shared a New Year's greetings video featuring 'Squid Game' star Lee Jung Jae and other talents under them.

They were asked to recommend their favourite songs as sources of strength and in the video, Lee Jung Jae revealed that BTS' Jungkook's song 'Standing Next to You' gives him strength. The song is from the debut solo album 'GOLDEN' by the youngest member of BTS. Despite its release a few months ago, the song remains on repeat for many, including Lee Jung Jae.

However, what's interesting is that he shares a very close bond with another BTS member - V, also known as Kim Taehyung.

What are Jungkook and V aka 'TaeKook' upto?

Known by their ship name 'TaeKook,' the two youngest members of BTS, who are also very close friends, are currently enlisted in the South Korean military service. Before their enlistment, they delighted fans called ARMY with their solo albums: 'LAYOVER' by V and 'GOLDEN' by Jungkook. Both albums have broken records and topped charts across various platforms.

They also caused a stir on Instagram after they both conducted a live stream for the first time following the opening of their accounts on the photo and video-sharing app. Both members will be discharged from military service in 2025, at which point the entire group, who have renewed their contract with BigHit Music agency, will be eyeing a comeback.

What about Squid Game 2:

The show began production at the end of 2023, and the cast features many heavyweight actors. Director Hwang Dong-hyuk, who won an Emmy for his efforts in season 1, is once again directing every episode.

The new cast will include names like Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Park Sung-hoon, Jo Yu-ri, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Lee Jin-uk, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, and Won Ji-an.
