The latest spectacle on the internet has arrived. The new song "Dabidi Dibidi," featuring Nandamuri Balakrishna and Urvashi Rautela from the forthcoming action thriller "Daaku Maharaaj," has been released. However, the 'indecent' choreography by Shekhar Master has provoked significant outrage online.

What's in the song?

The music video featuring the composition by S Thaman opens with Balakrishna seated regally, adorned in a blue shirt complemented by an elaborate blue jacket, brown trousers, and sunglasses. Urvashi Rautela, attired in a crop top and skirt, beams as Balakrishna playfully taps her belly button in rhythm and tugs at her dress. In the chorus, Balakrishna playfully swats Urvashi on her backside, and she clearly revels in the moment. The choreographer is also observed relishing the performance and praising the actors.

Internet reacts

The internet struggled to comprehend the indecency present in the song. An X user remarked, “Young Girl Dancing with His Grandfather!!" highlighting the significant age gap between Balakrishna, aged 64, and Urvashi, aged 30. Another comment expressed, “Terrible Choreography and the trolling has already begun... If you genuinely care for NBK, kindly remove the song and reshoot it,” while a further comment noted, “Consistently selecting North Indian actresses for the granddaughter role.”

Additionally, one individual commented, “Our ‘Bandra, Juhu’ directors do not produce this calibre of (poop emoji)," alluding to the film's producer, Naga Vamsi's assertion that Bollywood directors focus primarily on the audiences of Bandra and Juhu, affluent areas in Mumbai, whereas South Indian filmmakers have demonstrated to Hindi cinema how to create pan-India blockbusters.

Daaku Maharaaj is set to premiere in theatres on January 12, coinciding with the Sankranti festival. The film is directed by Bobby Kolli, and the first-look video showcased Balakrishna in a dacoit persona. The film will also feature Bobby Deol as the antagonist, marking his debut in Telugu cinema. Bobby recently made his Tamil debut as the villain in Siva's period fantasy Kanguva, where he faced off against Suriya.
