Imtiaz Ali's film Amar Singh Chamkila, starring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra, is one of the most highly anticipated OTT releases of April. It is based on the life of the late legendary Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila, who was killed at a young age. On April 3, the makers of the film dropped a new song from the movie. Titled Tu Kya Jaane, the song was crooned by Yashika Sikka and composed by AR Rahman. The track features Diljit and Parineeti's old-school romance.

Tu Kya Jaane from Amar Singh Chamkila has been released on YouTube. Featuring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra as Amar Singh Chamkila and Amarjot Kaur, the track highlights their old-school romance. The song was composed by AR Rahman and penned by Irshad Kamil. 

Tu Kya Jaane transports us back to the old times and makes us relive 'pehle zamaane ka pyaar' as mentioned by AR Rahman on his official X account. His tweet read, "There’s something special about pehle zamaane ka pyaar, isn’t it?! ‘Tu kya jaane’ from Amar Singh Chamkila. Song out now (sic)."

Imtiaz Ali was unsure of casting Diljit Dosanjh in Amar Singh Chamkila

Meanwhile, in an interview with Pinkvilla, Imtiaz Ali admitted that he was initially unsure of casting Diljit Dosanjh in his film, Amar Singh Chamkila. The director wasn't sure if things were going to work out with Dosanjh for some reason. "I thought he might not be able to do it, etc. So I didn’t approach him in the beginning, but it’s a little later that I did; the moment I spoke to him, it was just like a different chapter," he told the entertainment portal. 

But now Imtiaz Ali feels that nobody except for Diljit and Parineeti could play Amar Singh Chamkila and Amarjot Kaur in his directorial venture. The film is set to release on Netflix on April 12, 2024.
