However, he lost his luster with films including Vaastu Prakara, Dana Kayonu, Kwatle Satisha, Mugulu Nage, Panchatantra, Gaalipata 2, Garadi, and Karataka Damanaka not matching the brilliance of his earlier works. When he subsequently announced a film featuring a group of newcomers that was to be produced by Mungaru Male producer E Krishnappa, it sparked curiosity, but audiences remained doubtful about the film.

Manada Kadalu is headed to Amazon Prime Video
Upon the release of Manada Kadalu in late March this year, the reviews, interestingly, were not overly harsh, with critics suggesting that there were glimpses of vintage Bhatru (as the filmmaker is affectionately called) in the film, thanks to the story infused with his distinctive elements. Manada Kadalu is now preparing for its OTT release, having secured a streaming deal. The film has been acquired by Amazon Prime Video and is currently accessible for viewers in the UK and USA. The release in India is anticipated within 3-4 days. Recently, Vaamana was also made available for international audiences first, with the Indian release following 4 days later.

The story centers around Sumukha (Sumukha), an MBBS dropout, embarking on a journey of self-discovery, having faced only disillusionment in the medical field. Along his journey, he encounters Rashika (Rashika Shetty), an emerging cricketer, and it’s love at first sight for him. However, she does not return his affections, which, as later disclosed, is due to a specific reason. Completing the love triangle is archaeologist Anjali (Anjali Anish), Rashika’s best friend, who is engrossed in exploring the imaginary Adivasi island of Donidurga.

Expertly filmed by Santhosh Rai Pathaje, the movie explores the themes of life and death, with Bhatru presenting his signature philosophical insights on the dynamics of modern relationships compared to the sensibilities of earlier times.
