The film is reported to have had a satisfactory initial theatrical performance, largely due to the backing of Challenging Star Darshan fans, who have been calling Dhanveerrah the superstar’s brother. Throughout Darshan’s recent legal issues related to the Renukaswamy murder case, Dhanveerrah remained resolute in his support, making him one of the few individuals still trusted by the former.

Vaamana features Dhanveerrah as Guna, the henchman of a local businessman, the designated individual for all the unsavory tasks the boss requires. As a hardcore mass action commercial film, Vaamana included a considerable amount of violence and bloodshed, yet it also showcased family drama and romance. The mother-son bond between Dhanveerrah and Tara, who portrayed his mother, was noted as one of the film's highlights, which also features Aditya Menon, Sampath Raj, Achyuth Kumar, Avinash, and Petrol Prasanna, among others.

Dhanveerrah was paired with Ek Love Ya and Raana fame Reeshma Nanaiah, whose latest release was the Upendra starrer UI. The actress' upcoming projects include KD with Dhruva Sarja and Anna From Mexico with Daali Dhananjaya. Among the Kannada films released on April 10, Vidyapati was the first to debut on OTT and is now available on Prime Video. Following it, Vaamana was released on the same platform, while Agnyathavasi is set to be available nearly a week later on Zee5 Kannada.
