Following the remarkable achievements of 2024, Malayalam cinema embarks on 2025 with an explosive entry through the captivating thriller Identity. The previous year witnessed a series of blockbuster films, including Manjummel Boys, ARM, Aavesham, Kishkinda Kandam, Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil, Vaazha, Aadu Jeevitham, Anveshippin Kandethum, Osler, Bhramayugam, Vazhshangal Shesham, and Premalu, which collectively opened new horizons for Malayalam cinema in various states.

These films have surpassed the ₹50 crore and ₹100 crore milestones at the box office. Now, the newly released thriller Identity has joined the ranks of sensational hits, achieving record-breaking collections. Featuring Tovino Thomas, Trisha Krishnan, and Vinay Rai in leading roles, the film premiered in theatres on January 2 and garnered an overwhelmingly positive response.

Within just four days, the film amassed an impressive worldwide box office collection of ₹23.20 crores. Additionally, its Tamil version has also attained hit status, contributing to its overall success. Currently, the film has exceeded ₹40.23 crores in gross earnings within a mere two weeks. As it continues to perform strongly in packed theatres, trade analysts predict that it will soon enter the ₹50 crore club.

Plans are underway for the film's release in Telugu and Hindi in the upcoming weeks, which will likely boost its numbers further. Identity clearly signals that theatres are gearing up for a bustling year ahead. These consecutive box office triumphs are instrumental in attracting more audiences back to cinemas.

The film is crafted by the writing and directing duo Akhil Paul and Anas Khan, produced by Raju Malliath and Dr CJ Roy, and distributed by Gokulam Movies in collaboration with Dream Big Films.
