It's official! Kavin’s most anticipated film Star will now be released theatrically on May 10. The makers made the exciting announcement on their social media pages with the release of a brand new poster. The new poster reveals Kavin in a stylish avatar, leaning on a bike. The actor is seen sporting white and brown striped T-shirt and a pair of blue denims. The new poster exudes vintage vibes and promises to be an exciting film that fans can look forward to!

Star plot and cast

Directed by Elan, Star is actor Kavin’s upcoming film which will be chronicling the rise and struggles of a movie star. Apart from the lead actors Kavin and Preity, the film also stars Lal, Aaditi Pohankar, and Geetha Kailasam among others. Earlier, the makers had unveiled a glimpse which gave us a sneak peek into the film. The photo album glimpse took the audience through a series of shots displaying the journey of the protagonist’s life from childhood to adulthood. The promo hints at a heartwarming story and will have elements of college romance, family drama and more as its central theme.  

Director Elan heaps praise for Kavin

 In a recent interview, director Elan spoke about Kavin’s acting methods. Heaping praise on the Dada-fame actor’s acting skills, the director pointed out that Kavin is very conscious about not going overboard with his acting. He also added that the actor maintains a ‘metre’ for acting which he appreciates.   

For the unversed, Star marks Elan's second directorial outing. He made his debut as a director with Pyaar Prema Kaadhal in 2018, which was a huge hit at the box office. He finished the script for Star during the COVID lockdown and later approached Kavin. 

Yuvan Shankar Raja scores music for Star

Musical genius Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring music for the film, while Ezhil Arasu K is the cinematographer. Vinoth Raj Kumar N is the art director and Pradeep E Ragav handles the editing.
