On the actress’ special day, director Venkat Prabhu unveiled the first-look poster and title of her upcoming film. Titled Dear Exes, the new poster features the talented actress in a quirky look. Earlier the makers had revealed that the actress will be playing a woman who has a tough time finding her soulmate. Nithya Menen is known for her girl-next-door performances and hence, it will be interesting to watch her play a woman who is unlucky in finding love!

Nithya Menen to play ‘soup girl’

Earlier, when the film was announced, the makers had revealed that the film will have Nithya Menen playing the role of a ‘soup girl’ (someone who is unlucky in love, the term was made popular by Dhanush's hit Kolaveri Di song). Directed by debutant Kamini, who has worked as an assistant director to Shershaah director Vishnuvardhan. The film is set to be a fantasy romantic comedy, which will have Prateik Babbar, Vinay Rai, Navdeep and Malayalam actor Deepak Parambol in key roles.

Dear EXes will showcase a girl’s version of a heartbreak, says director

Director Kamini had earlier revealed that her debut directorial will centre around a ‘soup girl’ played by Nithya Menen and the challenges she faces in relationships. The film will also show things from a woman’s perspective. The director emphasised that since most films have showcased a man’s side of heartbreaks, this film will focus on the opposite gender. The film will see Nithya Menen’s character learning to navigate through the hardships she comes across in relationships to find her true self.
