Meet BOYNEXTDOOR: HYBE's rising stars dominate Circle Weekly Album Chart

Debuting under KOZ Entertainment, a sub-label under HYBE, on May 30, this six-member boy group - BOYNEXTDOOR - released a trailer for their second EP, "How?" on April 15, with 'Earth, Wind & Fire' as the title track. The physical album available in eleven versions: Earth, Wind, Fire, six individual Sticker versions, KiT, and Weverse Albums, took the top spot on the Circle Weekly Album Chart.

BOYNEXTDOOR sat on the top of the physical album chart with "HOW?", claiming two of this week's top four spots. The regular version of the mini-album debuted at No. 1, while the Weverse version charted separately at No. 4.

As this K-pop boy group continues to make a name for themselves, let's see if Jaehyun, Sungho, Riwoo, Taesan, Leehan, and Woonhak embody their group name, suggesting they are 'boys who live next door'.

Jaehyun

Birth Name: Myung Jae Hyun

Position: Leader, Main Rapper, Vocalist

Born on December 4, 2003, in Daebang, Dongjak, Seoul, South Korea, Jaehyun once lived overseas. He was formerly a trainee at YG Entertainment. In addition to being the group's leader, he also serves as the main rapper and vocalist. 

Jaehyun also contributes as the group's writer and composer. Moreover, he took on the role of M Countdown's new MC on January 11, 2024, alongside Sohee from RIIZE and Hanbin from ZEROBASEONE.

Sungho

Birth Name: Park Sung Ho

Position: Main Vocalist

Sungho, the group's eldest member, was born on September 4, 2003, in Wonju, Gangwon, South Korea. Due to his broad shoulders, he goes by the nickname "Shoulders". 

He began his three-year, nine-month training program during his freshman year of high school and was the first member to join KOZ Entertainment when it was just starting."

Riwoo

Birth Name: Lee Sang Hyuk

Position: Main Dancer, Vocalist

Riwoo was born in Beon-dong, Gangbuk, Seoul, South Korea, on October 22, 2003. He has participated in talent events and has a passion for dancing. He has mentioned that he becomes even more serious and focused when dancing.

It is said that in 2019, he successfully passed the first round of JYP Entertainment's audition process. However, it remains unclear whether he officially became a trainee.

Taesan

Birth Name: Han Dong Min

Position: Vocalist, Rapper, Visual

He was born in Hwajeong-dong, Seo, Gwangju, South Korea, on August 10, 2004. According to reports, he trained for seven years (2016 to 2023).

He even trained under SOURCE MUSIC as well. He is skilled at creating music, having started writing songs in the tenth grade.

Leehan

Birth Name: Kim Dong Hyun

Position: Vocalist, Visual

Leehan was born on October 20, 2004, in Allak-dong, Dongnae, Busan, South Korea. He has a keen interest in plants and animals and KOZ Entertainment even got him a fish tank for his dormitory.

He started practising Taekwondo at the age of five and has won medals in city tournaments. Leehan also proudly claims to be skilled in all water sports.

Woonhak

Birth Name: Kim Woon Hak

Position: Maknae, Vocalist

Born in Iui-dong, Yeongtong, Suwon, Gyeonggi, South Korea, on November 29, 2006, Woonhak aspired to become a dancer, composer, or rapper. He realized that pursuing a career in K-pop would help him reach his goals. He dedicated over three years to training and spent two years practising tirelessly for the stage.

It is said that Woonhak overslept and missed the auditions when KOZ arrived at the academy where he was training. Despite this, the agency contacted him, expressing interest in showcasing his skills and Woonhak went to the agency to audition.

Fandom Name: ONEDOOR

Their debut single album, "Who!", dropped on May 30, 2023, showcasing triple title tracks: "But I Like You," "One and Only," and "Serenade." The physical album is available in three versions: Who, Crunch, and Weverse Album.

"WHY.." marked BOYNEXTDOOR's debut EP, released on September 4, 2023, featuring "But Sometimes" as its title track. The physical album offered nine versions, including Dazed, Moody, individual letter versions, and Weverse editions.
