Sunny Deol has reunited with filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi for Lahore: 1947. The film marks their big screen reunion after Ghayal and Damini. While the film is being helmed by Santoshi, it will be backed by Aamir Khan. Following the massive success of Gadar 2, an official announcement about Lahore: 1947 was made. The latest update is that Aamir and Rajkumar are eyeing January 26, 2025, as the release date of the movie.

According to Bollywood Hungama, the shoot of Lahore: 1947, featuring Sunny Deol, is currently underway. The makers will reportedly wrap up the film by June 2024. The movie is being shot in a studio setting with a massive set to recreate the yesteryear era. The Rajkumar Sanotshi directorial will have minimal VFX as there will be more focus on real drama and action.

"It’s a patriotic film about a man’s love for India and what better than Republic Day for its arrival. Lahore: 1947 will most likely be Sunny Deol’s next on the big screen after the historic success of Gadar 2. Aamir Khan also has a cameo appearance in the film," a source told the entertainment portal.

It is confirmed that Preity Zinta will be making her comeback and reuniting with Sunny for Lahore: 1947. Santoshi said in a statement that the script demands a pair that is as accurate as Sunny and Preity. The director further revealed that Shabana Azmi has also come on board for the movie. She plays a central character in the movie, which primarily revolves around her.

As far as Lahore: 1947's villain is concerned, Abhimanyu Singh has been roped in to play the antagonist. "Interestingly, we have roped in Abhimanyu Singh who will be seen playing a strong and lead role as antagonist in Lahore 1947," said Santoshi. Apart from these actors, Ali Fazal is reported to play a pivotal role in the film.
