Recently, filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar launched his production house, Filament Pictures. On Friday, the filmmaker announced the first project from the banner, which will star actor Kavin in the lead role. Titled Bloody Beggar, it will be helmed by director Sivabalan.

Kavin’s next is Bloody Beggar

Kavin, who is one of the most promising young actors in the Tamil film industry, announced on Friday that he is part of a new project. Titled Bloody Beggar, the makers released a video in the typical Nelson style of shooting a fun-filled promo. It is to be noted that Kavin and Nelson Dilipkumar share a rapport and the former has also worked as an assistant director on the sets of the Vijay-starrer Beast.

The promo shows Nelson, Kavin and Sivabalan sitting around a table when Redin Kinglsey comes in and initiates the topic of a new film directed by Sivabalan. Redin suggests that Nelson produce it and we see the director and actor preparing a look for Kavin. Finally, we see Kavin as a disheveled beggar. Bloody Beggar will be shot by cinematographer Sujith Sarang, with Jen Martin scoring the music. R. Nirmal is the editor.

Announcing his new film, Kavin penned an emotional note and wrote, “This project is more than just a film—it's a union of my closest confidants. Sivabalan :) Our journey from discussing stories everywhere, from teashops to roads and beyond. From storytelling sessions to making movies, it feels surreal.” Kavin also thanked Nelson for the opportunity.

Kavin's Star gears up for release

Meanwhile, Kavin is currently awaiting the release of his film Star, which is directed by Elan. Kavin is promoting the coming-of-age drama, which is scheduled to hit big screens on May 10. It features Lal, Geetha Kailasam, Aaditi Pohankar, Preity Mukhundhan, and others. The film is shot by Dada cinematographer Ezhil Arasu K and edited by Pradeep E Ragav. Star is set against the movie industry and follows a man’s constant efforts to become a film actor.

On the other hand, Nelson had last directed Rajinikanth in the action-comedy thriller Jailer. The film was a commercial success when it was released last year. As per reports, it is suggested that the filmmaker is working on the sequel for Jailer, which is tentatively titled Hukum.
