The big reveal by Vyjayanthi Movies is finally out! Earlier in the day, the production house teased cinemagoers that a big update about the film, Kalki 2898 AD, will be unveiled this evening. And now, we have discovered that the teaser for Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin, has been released. This epic sci-fi dystopian film stars Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani in pivotal roles.

The 21-second-long teaser was just focused on megastar Amitabh Bachchan and his character portrayed in the magnum opus. At the beginning of the video, Bachchan's character responds to a child's question about whether death can harm him and whether he is God. Dressed in radiant earth-toned attire, he declared that he is Dronacharya's son, Ashwatthama.

Child: Kya tum mar nahi sakte? Tum bhagwaan ho? Kaun ho tum? (Translated as ‘Can you not die? Are you a God? Who are you?’)

Amitabh: Dwapar yug se dash-avatar ki pratiksha main... Dronacharya ka putra, Ashwatthama. (Translated as ‘Since the Dwapara Yuga, I am awaiting the tenth incarnation... Dronacharya's son, Ashwatthama.)

For those unfamiliar, Kalki is often referred to as the tenth and final incarnation of the revered Hindu deity, Lord Vishnu. In the Kal Yuga (the present age), Ashwathama is said to be a supporter of Kalki.

The teaser is trending on social media. Earlier in the day, Amitabh Bachchan told his fans on microblogging site X that he loved being a part of the film. He said, “It's been an experience for me like no other .. The mind to think such a product, the execution the exposure to modern technology and above all the company of colleagues with stratospheric Super star presence .. #Kalki2898AD #Vyjayanthimovies”

Multiple news reports earlier claimed that a fresh release date of Kalki 2898 AD would be announced. However, the teaser does not show the release date of the film.

Earlier, the creators of the big-budget project said that the movie would be released on May 9, 2024. But by looking at the promotions, news reports, and speculations in the media industry, it is likely that the release date of film will be postponed to June or July. Only time will tell when the film will hit the theatres.
