The makers of Kunchacko Boban’s next Malayalam film, Grrr, confirmed its major update. The comedy drama is all set to debut in theatres on June 14. The release date was announced a day after its teaser was out. Suraj Venjaramoodu is also playing a lead role in this movie.

Teaser of Grrr shows a man jumping into lion’s den

In the video, a man can be seen at Thiruvananthapuram Zoo jumping into the lion's den. Viewers will soon realise the exact reason behind his action, even though it may not seem like an accident, once the film is released. Instead of appearing afraid, he exudes confidence in his move as he approaches the lion.

The actor playing a zoo officer, Suraj Venjaramoodu, is trying to talk Kunchacko Boban's character into shielding himself from the lion. Suraj calls out emphatically in the teaser, "It's A Lion's Den, Not A Bird's Nest!" When Kunchacko Boban's character confronts the lion in the den, several zoogoers can be seen looking into it in shock and terror.

Grrr is a full-fledged comedy drama

Jay K, who has helmed Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer Ezra, is directing this film. In the meantime, Kannur, the zoo, and the environs of Thiruvananthapuram hosted most of the filming. Jay had previously said in an interview that the movie is basically a slice-of-life comedy drama about relationships between people, with the zoo being a part of the plot.

Rajesh Madhavan, Shruti Ramachandran, Anagha, and Shobi Thilakan are among the cast members of the movie. The movie is being co-produced by Cineholix, along with Shaji Nadesan and Arya under the banner of August Cinemas.

Following the announcement of the film, the Chaaver star had revealed that he shot with a real lion in South Africa. In an exclusive interview with OTTplay, Kunchacko stated, "If you look at the whole thing, it was scary." But we were properly taken care of, and all safety measures were followed. To finish the shot, all we had to do was keep that in mind," he continued.
