The anticipation surrounding Rocking Star Yash’s next colossal project, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, has surged following the official unveiling of Huma Qureshi's first look as the character Elizabeth. Known for her powerful, often challenging roles, Huma’s inclusion in the film adds an intriguing layer of intensity and mystery to the 2026 tentpole release.
Elizabeth’s Enigmatic Presence: A Gothic First Look
Huma Qureshi's introduction to the Toxic universe paints a dark and elegant picture. The first look poster captures the actress in a striking gothic setting: standing amidst weathered tombstones and solemn stone angels in a graveyard. The backdrop, a foreboding expanse, is intensified by the presence of a vintage black car.
Dressed in an off-shoulder black outfit with dramatic, sweeping sleeves, Huma embodies an old-world sophistication that perfectly complements the sinister undertones of the scene. The visual strongly hints at a narrative steeped in darkness, high drama, and intense character work, aligning with the film's subtitle: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups.
Geetu Mohandas on Casting the Powerhouse Performer
Director Geetu Mohandas, who also co-wrote the film with Yash, revealed that casting the role of Elizabeth was one of the project's most challenging tasks.
"The character demanded a performer with high octane caliber and an undeniable presence. From the moment Huma entered my frame, I witnessed that she possessed something rare," wrote Mohandas.
The director praised Huma's "effortless sophistication and intensity," noting that her tendency to "question, probes, and challenges" the artistic interpretation of a role became an essential part of the collaborative creative journey.
Huma Qureshi: “This is Going to Be Fire”
Reacting to the director's moving tribute, Huma Qureshi shared her deep appreciation and excitement for the project. Reposting Geetu's story, she fondly recalled their initial discussion:
"I remember our first coffee meeting when you shared your vision for this film... I was bowled over by the sheer audacity and magnitude of what we were going to attempt!!"
Huma called the experience of watching Geetu bring the film to life "nothing short of magical" and thanked Yash for being an "undeniable force of nature." Her concluding remark—"This is going to be fire 🔥"—captures the high-energy and spectacular outcome expected from this massive collaboration.
