Spirit is Sandeep Reddy Vanga's latest film that has been in pre-production for an extended period. We at OTTplay have previously reported that Sandeep Vanga has completed the script and has begun casting for the film. The excitement in film circles is that none other than Deepika Padukone has been signed on to play the female lead in the movie.

Delving into specifics, Spirit was anticipated to commence filming in December 2024, but that did not take place due to the Mr Perfect star, Prabhas, sustaining a knee injury. Sandeep Vanga reached out to Deepika to portray the role, but she declined the project at that time as she had recently given birth. Now that circumstances have changed and the film has experienced delays, Sandeep has approached Deepika once more, and she has accepted the role this time.

The word in film circles is that Sandeep Vanga has crafted a significant role for the Cocktail and Tamasha actress. Additionally, it has been reported that the filming of the movie will begin in October 2025. Promoted as a cop drama, Spirit will feature Prabhas taking on the role of a police officer for the first time in his career.

Deepika Padukone is back to signing movies

On the flip side, Deepika Padukone will also appear in Shah Rukh Khan's King, which is being helmed by Sidharth Anand. Spirit is being co-produced on a grand scale by Sandeep Vanga and T-Series. The majority of the filming will take place in Thailand, with reports suggesting that the movie has a drug mafia theme.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga takes considerable time in creating his films, and for this, he requires extended dates from his actors. One of the insiders close to the team indicates that Prabhas has set aside seven months for the project, and when he starts working on the sets of Spirit, he will not engage in any other assignments.

Deepika Padukone and Prabhas appeared together in Yevade Subramanyam director Nag Ashwin's major project Kalki 2898 AD. This marks the second occasion the pair will be seen together, and we are eager to find out what Sandeep Vanga has planned with Spirit. Keep checking for further updates.
