DeAr, the recently released Tamil film starring actor-composer GV Prakash and Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead roles, is set to stream on Netflix from April 28 (Sunday). A romantic drama, DeAr features the lead actor as a newly married couple whose marital lives get disturbed due to wife's excessive snoring problem.

The romantic drama is directed by filmmaker Anand Ravichandran. It is to be noted that DeAr shares his premise with the 2023 hit film Good Night, starring Manikandan and Meetha Raghunath. The film reversed the gender with the husband having the snoring issue.

DeAr released in theatres on April 11, and within 17 days of its release, will be available on Netflix for streaming. DeAr marks the first onscreen collaboration of GV Prakash and Aishwarya Rajesh will be sharing the screen space. The title is a portmanteau of the main lead’s character names, Deepika and Arjun. In the film, GV Prakash plays the role of a newsreader who is a light sleeper and is certain about getting eight hours of sleep mandatory for his profession. With Deepika a snorer, the film deals with how the problem takes a toll on their lives.

The film is produced by Varun Tripuraneni, Abhishek Ramisetty, and G Pruthviraj. Besides acting, GV Prakash has also scored the music for the film. The technical crew consists of cinematographer Jagadeesh Sundaramurthy, editor Rukesh and art director Pragatheeswaran. The film’s cast also includes known faces like Rohini, Ilavarasu, Kaali Venkat, Geetha Kailasam, and others in prominent roles. DeAr released in theatres along with Vijay Antony’s romance drama Romeo.

DeAr opened to mixed reviews upon its theatrical release. OTTplay in its review, called the film a “dreary watch” and said, “DeAr, starring GV Prakash Kumar and Aishwarya Rajesh, becomes a victim of half-baked characters and arcs, and the film leaves you with an unsatisfied aftertaste.”
