Veteran actor Anupam Kher's directorial venture Tanvi The Great is set to feature actor and filmmaker Arvind Swami. The film's creators have just unveiled the character poster of the actor, indicating that he portrays Major Srinivasan. The casting of Swami, who has made notable contributions to films in both Tamil and Hindi, has generated excitement among audiences and industry veterans.

Alongside Swami, the cast includes Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, Iain Glen, and Shubhangi. According to the production team, the film focuses on optimism, kindness, resilience, and the victory of the human spirit; it also marks another significant achievement in Kher's career as a director.

Swami expressed that it was a true pleasure collaborating with Kher in the role. The actor-filmmaker feels a deep connection to this subject, and Swami is appreciative of the chance to contribute, even in a small way, to this project. The actor indicated that hope, compassion, resilience, and the victory of the human spirit are the film's themes. He mentioned that the film’s thoughtful director, who approached it with care, elicited remarkable performances from its exceptionally talented cast. Swami feels honored to have been part of this.

Anupam Kher recalls bond with Arvind Swami

Taking to social media, Kher lauded Swami's performance in the film and reminisced about their long-standing friendship. The actor-filmmaker was impressed by the youthful and charismatic Swamy’s performance in Roja during their first encounter. The next moment Kher knew, he was watching him in Bombay. He believes that was the start of a new chapter for Indian cinema as a unique talent emerged.

They didn’t film Saath Rang Ke Sapne until much later. Hence, he has gained a lifelong friend who is completely dependable and trustworthy. Thus, when Kher was casting for Tanvi the Great for the role of Major Srinivasan, no one else came to mind. The director noted that the film depicts Swami as a monumental figure of bravery, resilience, and strength, Major Srini.

Kher felt immense pride in the actor's performance. The Indian Army makes everyone feel respected, safe, and secure. He addressed Swamy, expressing his eternal gratitude for being his friend, trusting him, and being so talented. Besides being a fantastic actor, he deemed him an excellent friend. Kher assured Swami that in the future, people would remember him for his portrayal of Major Srini.

The collaboration between Lower Middle Class Corporation, Anupam Kher Studios, and NFDC has facilitated the making of Tanvi The Great. Oscar-winning M. M. Keeravani (who composed music for Bimbisara, RRR, and Pelli SandaD) created the film's score. The film's release date is yet to be announced.
