Anees Bazmee and Akshay Kumar have previously collaborated in films like Welcome (2007), Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007), and Singh Is Kinng (2008). All these films were a hit amongst the audiences as well as critics. Now, in a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, the director said, "He is a star. Many of these stars have had good times and bad times. It happens. Sometimes their films don’t work, then two films will work and it goes on. He is such a beautiful person."

Further speaking about Akshay's talent, Anees said that Akshay can do action, dance, comedy, and cry. He called him "a complete actor." "There can be times when he chose the wrong script, or the wrong people to work with who don’t do justice to his talent. I don’t know the exact reason,” he added.

The Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 director also opened up on the bond that he share with Khiladi Kumar and appreciated him for his punctuality and how he comes to sets on time. He revealed, "He comes for a 7 am shoot at sharp 7. This is something scarce for us, but it’s a different thing. We’ve also become disciplined working with him."

Anees also mentioned that despite not meeting frequently, he shares a strong bond with Akshay. He expressed that he is anticipating his comeback at the box office soon.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan failed at the box office

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar's recent big-budget film, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, was made at a budget of Rs 350 crore. However, the film struggles in the Rs 60 crore range at the domestic box office.
