The stage is set for a massive opening for Prabhas upcoming horror-comedy, The Raja Saab, as the Andhra Pradesh Government has officially granted permission for a significant hike in ticket prices. In a move that reflects the immense star power of the actor and the high anticipation for the Sankranti release, tickets for the film will be priced as high as ₹1000 for special screenings.

This directive from the Andhra Pradesh government clears the way for premium pricing for both paid premiere shows and regular screenings across the state, ensuring that the film capitalizes on the massive audience demand during the festive window.

Premium Premiere Show Pricing

The Raja Saab is set to hold paid premiere shows beginning today, Thursday, January 8th, in Andhra Pradesh. For these special screenings, the ticket prices have been officially capped at a maximum limit of ₹1000 per seat. This unprecedented pricing is applicable for the premiere shows as well as regular shows for the first ten days of the film's run, offering a huge boost to the film's potential opening weekend collection.

In addition to the revised pricing, the filmmakers have also received clearance to screen up to five shows per day during this initial ten-day period. This allowance is a strategic move designed to maximize footfall and box office returns during the crucial Sankranti festival.

Revised Rates for Regular Screenings

The price revision extends beyond the special premiere shows. For regular screenings, which commence with the film's worldwide theatrical release on Friday, January 9th, ticket prices have also been revised upward.

Under the new government order:

  • Single-Screen Theatres: The Raja Saab tickets will now cost approximately ₹297 per seat. This marks a significant increase of around ₹150 compared to the previous standard rate of ₹150 for regular shows.

  • Multiplexes: Ticket prices across Andhra Pradesh multiplexes have seen a hike of ₹200, with the cap now set at ₹377 per seat for the first ten days of the film's run.

This ticket price strategy aims to leverage Prabhas’ pan-India appeal and the genre curiosity surrounding his first full-fledged horror-comedy.

High Expectations for the Sankranti Release

Directed by Maruthi, The Raja Saab features a prominent cast including Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, and veteran actors like Sanjay Dutt and Boman Irani. The film is set for a multi-lingual release in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

The Andhra Pradesh government's decision to approve such high rates underscores the massive scale of the film and the expected rush from Prabhas's devoted fan base. With overseas advance bookings already showing strong figures, the higher ticket prices in the key Telugu market are expected to push The Raja Saab toward a record-breaking opening at the domestic box office.
