Single Review: Sree Vishnu Blends Life and Laughter Effortlessly
7 days ago | 5 Views
Single Story
Single tells the story of Vijay (Sree Vishnu), an insurance agent who has surpassed the conventional marriage age. He develops feelings for Purva (Ketika Sharma), but she does not return his affections. The plot takes a turn when a young girl named Harini (Ivana) proposes to Vijay, only to be turned down by him. The narrative then unravels to show who Vijay ultimately selects.
Single Review
Single is crafted and directed by Caarthick Raju, who is known for his work on Chaavu Kaburu Challaga. He has chosen a highly relatable theme, which illustrates the challenges faced by singles in contemporary society, and has written it as an entertaining comedy. He relies heavily on humor and succeeds well in that aspect. However, when it comes to the emotional storyline, the film is lacking and does not have impactful scenes that validate the central theme.
Single is specifically aimed at a youthful audience and serves them well. The humor works effectively, and Sree Vishnu’s comedic timing is exceptional. His interactions with Vennela Kishore, known from Sathi Gani Rendu Yekaralu, are rich with references to pop culture. The manner in which Sree Vishnu reacts to various scenarios is well-executed within the film's context.
Nevertheless, the film suffers from repetitive sequences and takes a while to reach the intermission. Although the first half contains acceptable comedy, it feels unnecessarily prolonged. The second half features most of the entertaining scenes, and the portrayal of the protagonist caught between two leading ladies is depicted humorously. The film concludes on an intriguing note, which has been thoughtfully conceived. The groundwork for a sequel is also handled well.

When it comes to performances, Sree Vishnu, known for Thippara Meesam, Veerabhoga Vasatha Rayalu, and Needhi Nadi Okae Katha, is a source of laughter and gives a strong performance. His body language, screen presence, and comedic timing are standout features of the film.
After a significant hiatus, Vennela Kishore lands a substantial role and generates plenty of humor. His performance provides numerous memorable moments. The rapport between Sree Vishnu and Vennela Kishore is a strong draw, while the female leads appear somewhat secondary.
Ivana makes a notable debut and delivers a respectable performance, even though her character isn’t well fleshed out. Ketika Sharma, known from BRO fame, impresses and plays a more substantial role that is central to much of the film's narrative. The remaining cast performs adequately.
Vishal Chandrasekhar composed the soundtrack, but regrettably, none of the songs are particularly memorable. The film boasts good production values and an engaging premise. However, the editing is subpar, especially in the first half, with repetitive moments.

Single is a comedy-focused film that does not explore many other dimensions. It carries no serious undertones, as it was created solely to generate laughter. When viewed solely as a light-hearted comedy, it is an enjoyable experience; otherwise, it might seem like just another ordinary entertainer.
Single Verdict
Overall, Single is a lighthearted comedy intended for young people. The prominent features include its pop culture allusions and situational humor, which make it an easygoing viewing choice for this weekend.
