Junior movie review: Kireeti Reddy Shines in 'Junior,' Though Story Feels Familiar
4 months ago | 5 Views
Junior film plot: After a childhood of helicopter parenting, Abhinav (Kireeti Reddy) seeks to establish some space between himself and his father in college. During his four years of engineering school, he focuses on creating memories with classmates, professors, and a significant other. Abhi, who is determined to maintain his distance from his father, secures an internship at a major software company, where he is assigned to digitize CSR activity files and discovers fraud there. While attempting to remedy this problem, Abhi learns truths about his family.

Junior movie review: It was reasonable to assume that Crazy Star Ravichandran was conducting a superficial promotional interview when he rhapsodized about newcomer Kireeti Reddy's degree of readiness for his role in Junior. He was, in fact, quite serious. In what may be described as a classic Telugu movie, Kireeti leaves a lasting impression with his amazing dancing, powerful punches and kicks, and respectable acting abilities.
Even though Kireeti had contested these assertions, claiming that his launchpad is a Kannada movie that was also produced in Telugu, let's be honest about who the intended audience is. The majority of the movie is vibrant and noisy, but it's also surprisingly somewhat enjoyable. You could initially roll your eyes at a campus series created to highlight Kireeti's parkour abilities, but you can't deny that the youngster is skilled at what he does.
The beginning of the film, directed by Radhakrishna, is mostly devoted to humorous events on campus, such as Abhi's relationship with Spoorthi (Sreeleela), a fellow engineering student. The actress had stated in a promotional interview that the part was not particularly difficult and that "she's just there." But the reality is that Junior was shot more than three years after Kireeti suffered an injury and was sidelined for over a year.

Even though Sreeleela's character Spoorthi simply vanishes into thin air in the second half, it seems that the team was unable to obtain or pay for her dates when they reassembled, as she is one of the interns at a software giant managed by Genelia Deshmukh's Vijaya, along with Abhi and friends. The inclusion of the popular song Viral Vayyari is meant to compensate for the lack of an explanation.
The plot centers around Kireeti, while Ravichandran and Genelia play important and memorable parts. Genelia makes a great hot-shot boss, and Ravichandran's subdued father performance is really charming. Initially, Kiran Srinivas gives off threatening antagonist vibes, but by the conclusion of the movie, he is just a snake with no fangs. As does Sudharani, Achyuth Kumar and Vijay Chendoor have minor and unimportant parts.
Although Junior comes from a middle-class family, the movie is lavishly produced; as a result, Abhi is always wearing the finest money can buy, such as a pair of unmistakable Christian Louboutin shoes with red soles. The only objective of Kireeti's styling seems to be to add a few inches to the diminutive actor's physique with that bouffant hairstyle, which is unacceptable. Just get rid of it!
With his two-and-a-half hour showreel now finished, Reddy may focus on scripts with more substance, and his start has been promising. Junior, on the other hand, is not a completely terrible movie. It has a few interesting moments, but for the most part, it feels familiar. The story isn't the most unique, and it's also rather predictable. Even the twist in Genelia's story won't come as a surprise if you've been following the movie since its Bengaluru muhurtham, since she gave away a spoiler at that time.

Junior movie conclusion: Although the plot isn't the strongest, it's a great beginning for Kireeti. If you can persuade yourself that reason be damned, Junior may be a respectable one-time viewing because it is somewhat interesting, with themes of love, father-son relationships, and father-daughter relationships.
