Netflix is one of the most loved OTT platforms, where Indians mostly prefer to watch a diverse range of contents, and the streaming giant knows it all. Hence, without any fail, it dropped the bomb last month by announcing Do Patti along with some intriguing sneak-peeks of the storyline, as well as Kajol and Kriti Sanon’s first looks. This is the first time the duo has collaborated, and both are absolutely killing it already.

While Kajol has worked in various mystery-thrillers, Do Patti marks Sanon’s first mystery genre in her 10 years of career. But did you know, Do Patti also marks the debut production of Kriti? Yes, the film is co-produced by the 33-year-old actress.

What made Kriti Sanon produce Do Patti?

But what was the driving force for Kriti that suddenly strike her to produce a film, that too a film like Do Patti? We finally got to learn the real reason from the Adipursh-actress herself. In an exclusive interview session with Pinkvilla Masterclass, Sanon delved deep into the matter of her work strategies, her desires, and how Bollywood is not always able to fulfill that dream.

Kriti Sanon revealed that it was not a sudden decision. Rather she always dreamed of producing something. She has always wanted to back a project that she loves. She further stated that people have no idea how much creative she is, and this always makes her curious about her every film and their whole scripts, and not just her part.

The Heropanti-actress recalled that while shooting for Mimi (2021), for which she won the prestigious National Award recently, she was so mesmerised with the concept of the comedy-drama, that she was eagerly looking for the right time to produce a film, and when she couldn't find a way out, she met Kanika Dhillon, who is the writer and also the co-producer of Do Patti. Kriti shared that she loves Dhillon’s ideas and writings, as she finds her quite quirky. Sanon couldn't hold her excitement and shared that Do Patti is a unique mixture of her subject and Dhillon’s idea.

Lastly Kriti proudly stated that she loves to be newcomer in everything. She loves to explore things, projects, anything that is unique. She doesn't mind to be called out. Rather it instigates her to polish her talent and skills. And after watching her back-to-back project in recent times, we absolutely agree to that.

However, Kriti Sanon is currently basking in the success of her recent releases - Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya and Crew. While the first one grossed over Rs.140 crore, the second one grossed over Rs.40 crore within 8 days of its release.
