Vivek Oberoi made his entry into Malayalam cinema with the film Lucifer, featuring Mohanlal and directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran. Recently, he expressed his admiration for Mohanlal's performance in Company, which left a lasting impression on him.

Reflecting on Mohanlal’s portrayal in Company

Vivek Oberoi noted that the Malayalam icon appeared quite composed before the scene began but transformed into his character as soon as the action commenced.

“He picks up a glass paperweight and begins to play with it while delivering his lines... I was captivated by this brilliant performance,” Oberoi, who portrayed Chandru in Company, recalled.

“When it was my turn to deliver my counter dialogue, I found myself gazing at him like a fan. Ram Gopal Varma had to remind me, saying, ‘What’s wrong with you? You need to say your dialogue now.’ I apologized, explaining that I was simply enjoying the moment and the extraordinary performance unfolding before me,” Vivek Oberoi shared.

Vivek Oberoi made his debut in Malayalam cinema with the film Lucifer, directed by Prithviraj, in 2019, portraying the character Bobby, who serves as the antagonist. The narrative of Lucifer unfolds in the aftermath of Chief Minister PK Ramdas's demise in Kerala, highlighting the ensuing political power struggle. Bobby, the son-in-law of the late political figure, seeks to exploit the resulting power vacuum in the state. However, his schemes are thwarted when Mohanlal's character, Stephen Nedumpally, becomes involved. Additionally, Manju Warrier plays the role of Priyadarshini Ramdas, the daughter of the politician and Bobby's wife, in this 2019 production.
