Before making his debut as the lead actor in Vetrimaaran's 2023 movie Viduthalai Part 1, Tamil actor Soori had a lot of difficulties. Before entering the film industry in 1998, he worked in a variety of uncredited or supporting roles. At an event for his most recent release, Maaman, he disclosed that he had supported himself by working as a day laborer and living on the absolute necessities in order to reach his present position.

Soori makes twenty rupees a day.

At the ceremony, Soori disclosed that in 1993 he and some pals in Tiruppur worked as day labourers. He earned ₹20 a day, and at the conclusion of the week, he had accumulated ₹140. He sent the remainder home for his family's needs after retaining ₹70 for himself.

In Tamil, "I started working in Tiruppur in 1993 with a group of friends." We only made ₹20 a day. We made ₹140 at the end of the week; I would retain ₹70 for myself and send the remaining ₹70 back home. I was able to get a coconut bun for one and a quarter rupees at a bakery close by. I frequently drank tea alone since tea and a bun would have exhausted my funds.

Additionally, he said that the hotel's proprietors had treated him nicely. According to Soori, he learned some of the most difficult lessons of his life during his tenure in Tiruppur, and the love and applause he now receives make him feel as though he has been compensated.

Recent work

Soori appeared in a lot of movies, including Dhandayuthapani, Poraali, and Sundarapandian, among others. For his humorous performances in movies like Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam and Sangili Bungili Kadhava Thorae, he even received accolades.

In 2023, Vetrimaaran gave him the main role in Viduthalai Part 1, and his performance attracted attention, marking a change in his career. In addition to starring in Kottukkaali and Garudan, he reprised his role for Viduthalai Part 2 in 2024. He appeared in Badava and Maaman in 2025, which was released in cinemas this Friday. Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai will soon feature Soori.
