She noted that her decision was influenced by her daughter-in-law's involvement in the production. “My daughter-in-law issued the directive, and my son is the producer; how could I possibly decline? It was a family affair.”

Moreover, she emphasized the allure of her character, stating, “The character is truly captivating. You have no idea where she is headed or what actions she will take. When this opportunity presented itself, I was thrilled. I eagerly anticipate the journey ahead.”

Jyotika, who plays a significant role in the series, conveyed her enthusiasm about collaborating with a formidable team. “What is there not to attract me to these stories? First and foremost, Shabana Azmi—her name alone is a powerhouse—and, of course, Excel Entertainment. I feel a strong connection to this project, particularly because it is led by women; a remarkable team of women contributed to Dabba Cartel. Even our crew comprised 70-80% women. The sheer essence of female empowerment is a compelling reason to be part of this endeavor.”

Shalini Pandey expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to work alongside Shabana Azmi. “My parents have always admired Shabana Azmi; I grew up hearing about her. I have watched her films and have been a devoted fan. Being part of such a distinguished cast is a privilege. It is an enriching experience to stand alongside these remarkable women.”

Providing insight into her character, she remarked, “My character appears to be a very sweet and homely girl, which she indeed is. However, as she experiences turmoil and loses her innocence, she remains unaware of the depth she possesses. Through this role, I have uncovered that depth, making it a remarkable experience for me.”

Sai Tamhankar alluded to the intensity of her role in the series, indicating that her character is intricately woven into a crime narrative. “Every morning, I sit at the police station,” she stated.

She further recognized the high expectations established by the director: “Each scene posed a challenge because our director is quite discerning. It is both a pleasure and a privilege to work with such talented individuals, and I am genuinely delighted to be part of this project.”

Anjali Anand, who joined Dabba Cartel at the last moment, conveyed her excitement about reuniting with Shabana Azmi. “I had always believed I could contribute to this project. As a survivor and fighter, I truly appreciated the opportunity to explore a different character. Everyone made the transition seamless for me. I was the last addition to the cast, and everything unfolded rapidly. I hadn’t even read the script, but after receiving a call, I was on board within two minutes. Working with Shabana Azmi for the third time is an opportunity one cannot refuse.”
