Prasanna ventured into the Hindi OTT space with Ranneeti: Balakot & Beyond. The actor essays the role of IAF Wing Commander Abhimanyu Vardhan. The series features Prasanna in a character, that is similar to IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman. For the uninitiated, Abhinandan fell on the other side of the LOC after the 2019 Balakot air strike. In an exclusive chat with OTTplay, Prasanna opened up about a similar scene, which is a part of Ranneeti. The actor recalled shooting in '-4 degrees' in Kashmir.

When Prasanna shot in '-4 degrees' for Ranneeti

Speaking exclusively with us, Prasanna spoke about the scene from Ranneeti: Balakot & Beyond at length. The actor said, "There's a scene where I fall on the other side of the fence. When I wake up, I realise I am not in my territory anymore. I have my documents with me and (at the same time) I am not supposed to reveal things to others. I am supposed to destroy the documents and people are chasing me. I end up running in a cold river. It was -4 degrees when we were shooting in Kashmir."

Prasanna further stated, "I had to get into the water. It wasn't just one take and we were doing it again and again for various reasons. Every time I would get into the water and come out of it, my legs would feel numb - totally senseless. That's how cold the water was. Every time, I would come out, they would have a campfire ready, remove my shoes and warm me up. But then again they would get ready for the shot and I would go into the water."

What kept Prasanna going for multiple takes for the Ranneeti scene?

As the actor continued the conversation, Prasanna revealed the reason he didn't mind giving multiple takes for that particular scene in Ranneeti.

"What kept me going back into the water was the kind of passion our soldiers and men in uniform have for the country. I am an actor and getting paid for my work. I might think twice or thrice to get into that water. (But) a soldier who is always ready to sacrifice his life, for the sake of his country, he's not sure if he is going to sleep that night or if he is going to meet his family again, but he is always ready for his call and moment of glory. That thought kept me going into the water every time the director wanted," he said while signing off.

Directed by Santosh Singh, Ranneeti also stars Jimmy Shergill, Lara Dutta, Ashutosh Rana and Ashish Vidyarthi. The series premiered today (April 25).
