Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh recently shared the types of challenges he encountered in Bollywood because of his appearance. Speaking with The Therapy Diariez, he mentioned that people questioned whether he even knew how to speak Hindi since he came from a lineage of singers and appeared ‘firangi’. Here’s what he stated.

Neil was inquired if he experienced any fear prior to securing his first movie in Bollywood, and he answered, “Until the moment I acquired my debut film, I did not allow anything to influence me. I declared, I can’t afford to have any form of fear. I cannot afford to panic regarding whether I will succeed. I do not possess a choice; I truly had no choice whatsoever. I had to accomplish it at any cost. ”

He subsequently mentioned that individuals doubted him because of his family background and his appearance, “It was already a hurdle that I am Mukesh ji’s grandson and he’s a singer. My father is a singer. Regardless, people were skeptical about whether I could even perform. Is his Hindi even proficient? Dikhta firangi hai. (He appears to be a foreigner) Hence, I faced numerous challenges. People would comment, I look like an angrez ka baccha (child of a foreigner). Whether I would be able to succeed in Hindi films. All these were my handicaps, which I transformed into my strengths. ”

For those who are unaware, Neil is the son of playback singer Nitin Mukesh and the grandson of singer Mukesh. Although he acted as a child artist in 1988 and 1989 in Vijay and Jaisi Karni Waisi Bharnii, he served as an assistant director in the 2002 film Mujhse Dosti Karoge. In 2007, he made his lead debut with Johnny Gaddaar and was most recently featured in the 2024 film Hisaab Barabar.
