Is BLACKPINK disbanding? Lisa's contract news and Jennie's 'lazy dance' trend

While BLACKPINK has technically surpassed the so-called '7-year curse,' there remains a veil of uncertainty regarding contract renewals. This issue has garnered significant attention in the entertainment industry, as it could have a substantial impact on YG Entertainment's stock price.

Numerous reports suggest that Lisa has received lucrative offers, amounting to tens of billions of won, from overseas entities, including her homeland, Thailand. Interestingly, following YG's initial contract renewal offer, there are reports that she recently declined YG's second offer, valued at approximately 50 billion won.

Rumours have swirled about difficulties in YG's attempts to renew Lisa's contract. Last July, her contract status with YG was unclear amidst rumours of discussions with a Chinese agency. YG, however, maintained that "contract renewals are still under discussion."

The question of whether BLACKPINK will renew with YG remains unanswered, and there is growing concern that the finale concert at Gocheok Dome may mark BLACKPINK's "last stage" as a group. An official from the securities industry revealed that "the group will likely go into indefinite hiatus and suspend activities after the world tour."

Furthermore, new videos from the BORN PINK tour and allegations of 'lazy dancing' by Jennie have added to the complexity of the situation. Since the commencement of the tour, several videos have circulated, leading to divisions among BLACKPINK fans, known as Blinks.

While the majority express contentment with Lisa not renewing her contract, as she appears to be the sole member putting in consistent effort, some speculate that it may be a strategic ploy to generate hype around their contract renewal.

Contract renewals for other members:

On another note, it has been reported that contract renewals for BLACKPINK members Jennie, Jisoo, and Rose have been successfully concluded. However, there has been no official report from the agency as yet.

BLACKPINK is currently gearing up to conclude their Born Pink World Tour in Seoul on September 16 and 17.

Despite celebrating their 7th anniversary on August 8, YG and BLACKPINK have yet to finalize their contract renewal. It's worth noting that even if the contract expiration date has passed, a fixed schedule set before the contract's expiration is still considered valid and must be honoured.

The members' statements about their "intentions" have also piqued curiosity. During a Singapore concert, Rose declared, "BLACKPINK will not go anywhere," eliciting cheers from fans. In contrast, Jennie suggested that their performance at the Gocheok Dome would be their "last one."

BLACKPINK's controversies:

The members of BLACKPINK have also been in the spotlight due to dating rumours. Jennie has been linked to EXO Kai, Big Bang's G-Dragon, and most recently, BTS V. Lisa sparked rumours of romantic involvement with the scion of a prominent chaebol family, Frederic Arnault.

Rose has been associated with actor Kang Dong-won while Ji-soo confirmed her relationship with actor Ahn Bo-hyun.
