The 25th-anniversary edition of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Weekend and Awards represented a remarkable milestone, taking place in the cultural epicentre of Rajasthan, Jaipur. This Silver Jubilee celebration, held on March 9th, 2025, served as a grand homage to Indian cinema, highlighting its significant global influence and the art of storytelling. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Jaipur’s royal heritage, the event enthralled audiences with exceptional performances, thrilling awards, and heartfelt tributes to Bollywood legends.

The evening was masterfully hosted by the charming Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan, who enhanced the ambience with their wit and charisma. Bollywood luminaries such as Shah Rukh Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Kriti Sanon graced the stage, delivering unforgettable performances that illuminated the IIFA Awards. In a touching tribute to her iconic grandfather, Raj Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan honoured his legacy with an emotional dance to beloved tracks from his films, including Mera Joota Hai Japani and Pyar Hua Ikraar Hua.

The prestigious NEXA IIFA Awards stood out as the evening's centrepiece, featuring intense competition across various categories, including Best Picture, Best Direction, and Best Performances in both leading and supporting roles. This year’s ceremony also recognized several special accolades, such as Best Debut Female for Pratibha Ranta (Laapataa Ladies) and Best Debut Male for Lakshya Lalwani (Kill). Esteemed filmmaker Rakesh Roshan was honoured with the Outstanding Achievement in Indian Cinema award, acknowledging his significant contributions to the industry.

The evening served as a vivid representation of Rajasthan's rich culture and allure. Ms Diya Kumari, the Honorable Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, conveyed her pride in hosting the IIFA Silver Jubilee Edition in Jaipur, highlighting the importance of cultural exchange and the enhancement of tourism in the area. The stunning landmarks of Jaipur, including its palaces, forts, and temples, created an ideal setting for this magnificent celebration, blending the glamour of Bollywood with the profound heritage of Rajasthan. 

Featuring performances by Madhuri Dixit, Shahid Kapoor, and Kriti Sanon, along with heartfelt tributes and spectacular awards, IIFA 2025 solidified its status as the premier global platform for Indian cinema. The Silver Jubilee edition not only commemorated 25 years of cinematic brilliance but also illustrated the significant influence of Indian cinema on the international stage.
