Actor Vishnu Vishal is quite upbeat about his upcoming movie Lal Salaam, which is due in cinemas next week. One of the highlights of the movie is it stars Superstar Rajinikanth in an extended cameo.

Even though Rajinikanth will only appear for a brief time in Lal Salaam, Vishnu assured the fans that the film will offer enough moments for them to celebrate the superstar on the big screen. "We all want to whistle and clap while watching a Rajinikanth film. And there are enough whiley-worthy moments in the movie," he said.

Lal Salaam is a timely film

In the meantime, he also expressed his admiration for Rajinikanth for extending his stardom to a movie like Lal Salaam. Directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, the eldest daughter of the superstar, the film addresses a pressing issue in the country: the diminishing harmony between Indian communities.

Lal Salaam revolves around the issue of communal violence between people belonging to different faiths. Rajinikanth, speaking at the audio release event of the film, described it as "the need of the hour."

Vishnu echoed a similar sentiment while praising Rajinikanth for his role in the film. "I am a big fan of Rajinikanth sir. After watching the film, I told him that as a fan, I was proud of him for doing a movie like this. Not everybody will find the kind of courage to act in such a film," he expressed.

Rajinikanth plays a key role in Lal Salaam

In Lal Salaam, Rajinikanth essays the character named Moideen Bhai. Judging from the teaser trailers, it's clear that he plays a Muslim leader, who strives to achieve communal harmony in the country.

Cricket appears to play a significant role in the narrative of Lal Salaam. Speculations suggest that the movie might follow a theme similar to the 2013 Hindi film Kai Po Che!

Lal Salaam also stars Vikranth, Vignesh, Livingston, Senthil, Jeevitha, K. S. Ravikumar and Thambi Ramaiah. It will arrive in cinemas on February 9.
