YouTuber Apoorva Mukhija, known as The Rebel Kid, is celebrating a significant victory! Her comeback video, Till I Say It Is, has reached over 10 million views, signifying her return following the India's Got Latent controversy. Apoorva took a moment to express her gratitude to her greatest supporter – her mom – with a heartfelt message.

Apoorva thanks her mom

The content creator took to Instagram Stories to share a screenshot of a WhatsApp message from her mother congratulating her on the achievement. Apoorva’s mother wrote, “Sai bless you abundantly mera bachcha (my baby). "

Apoorva conveyed her appreciation while sharing the screenshot, referring to her mother as her “biggest blessing”.

She wrote, “My mom is the best thing that God has given me, honestly. I will never be able to say ki meri kismat kharab hai (I am unlucky) because I really, really won the lottery with my mom. She checks YouTube 7-8 times a day just to see when I hit a million. I didn’t even know ki mere ek million hone wale hain (that it is about to hit the 1 million mark), but every time I hit a milestone, she always, always notices and is the first one to congratulate me. My mom truly is the embodiment of ‘she clapped so hard, I didn’t notice who didn’t’. ”

Apoorva also provided a preview for an upcoming chat show she filmed just 15 days following the controversy. She stated, “I filmed this in March (15 days after everything occurred), and I was quite upset and emotional during this podcast. ”

“It’s not even amusing, but I would like to thank @tanejamainhoon for permitting me to convey those feelings and for offering me the platform to vocalize my side of the story. There’s no one else I would have done this with. @weareyuva very openly supported all of us at the height of this controversy, and that’s not a risk many people took. So I feel eternally thankful and incredibly eager for this to be released,” she continued.

Apoorva’s return on Instagram

She had removed all her posts on Instagram after experiencing online harassment. Earlier this month, Apoorva made her return to Instagram. In a heartfelt message, the influencer mentioned that her manager advised her against returning home as it wasn’t secure since many were aware of her residence.

“I began looking at my DMs, and they were all graphic messages detailing how people wished to harm me, throw acid, and things like that,” she shared, adding that on the day she went to the police to file her statement, she “cried so much" as it felt like a “dehumanising” ordeal because of the paparazzi's behavior towards her. Apoorva indicated that her parents have been supportive throughout this, but online trolls discovered her mother’s social media account and began posting hurtful comments. “I deserve this because I did this. My parents did not merit this,” she expressed. The influencer noted that the profits from the video stream will be donated to an NGO that “supports acid attack victims, rape victims, and victims of domestic violence. ”

About Apoorva, India’s Got Latent controversy

Apoorva was among the comedians who appeared in the contentious episode of India’s Got Latent in January. She was included in the panel where YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia made his controversial remarks concerning parents and sex. While he faced significant criticism, a clip featuring Apoorva also garnered negative responses from social media users. Comedian Samay Raina, the creator of the well-known YouTube series, subsequently removed all episodes of the show. Samay, Ranveer, Apoorva, and others associated with the show are facing multiple FIRs due to their comments on the show.
