Indian performers rank among the highest-paid celebrities in the nation. The leading stars consistently earn crores for every public appearance and even more for their film roles. Therefore, it's no surprise that many of the top stars in Indian cinema enjoy extravagant lifestyles. Numerous ones take pride in having private jets, luxurious bungalows, and collections of high-end vehicles. However, one Bollywood actress possesses something remarkable - a private island. And it’s not one of the typical names.

The Bollywood star who owns a private island

Sri Lankan actress Jacqueline Fernandez, who has been part of Indian entertainment for more than twenty years, is the sole Bollywood actress to own a private island. Jacqueline possesses a four-acre island situated off the southern coast of Sri Lanka. She acquired the land in 2012. According to reports, she invested $600K in the purchase (approximately ₹3 crore at that time). Reports indicated that Jacqueline intended to construct an opulent villa there. Nonetheless, the actress never verified whether the villa was for her personal use or if she planned to rent the property out for commercial purposes. There is also no information on what the actress has done with the island following the purchase, aside from the fact that she remains the proud owner of a private island.

Jacqueline Fernandez's journey in Bollywood

A previous beauty queen from Sri Lanka, Jacqueline started her journey in the entertainment industry as a model before shifting to Bollywood. She made her film debut in 2009 with Aladin. However, it was with Murder 2 in 2011 that she achieved her significant breakthrough. In the subsequent five years, she had more successes, including Housefull 2 and Raid 2. Yet, this was followed by a period of underperformance where she experienced several flops. The actress was most recently seen in Sonu Sood's action film Fateh earlier this year. She has two movies scheduled for release in 2025 - Housefull 5 and Welcome To The Jungle, both featuring Akshay Kumar as a co-star.
