Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor have been granted temporary police protection by the Mumbai Police after Saif was attacked with a knife at their home last week. The actor sustained injuries in the stabbing incident, underwent surgery, and spent five days in the hospital for recovery.

Saif Ali Khan and his family get police protection

Saif Ali Khan was discharged from Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday and returned to his Bandra apartment. As per an ETimes report, the Mumbai Police have provided temporary protection to Saif, Kareena Kapoor, and their two children, Taimur and Jeh. The report mentions that two constables have been assigned to the family, ensuring their safety whenever they go out.

Additionally, the Bandra police station has stepped up surveillance and patrolling in the area, both on foot and by vehicle. The upscale locality, which houses many celebrities, has recently seen a rise in serious crimes, including the attack on Saif, shots fired at Salman Khan's house, and the murder of Baba Siddiqui. Police have stated that visitor spots in the area will now be monitored every hour.

Saif Ali Khan adds personal security cover

Since the attack, Saif Ali Khan has taken additional measures to strengthen the security at his Bandra home. The actor resides in an apartment complex in Bandra (West), and in the days leading up to his return, a security agency was brought in to install CCTV cameras at the entrance. To further enhance safety, a security firm owned by actor Ronit Roy is now assisting with the increased security at Saif's residence, as confirmed by Roy.

The attack on Saif Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan sustained six injuries, including deep cuts to his neck and back, after an intruder attacked him with a knife at his home last week. Reports suggest that Saif was trying to protect his family and staff from the assailant. The actor returned home on Tuesday and was greeted by cheering fans as he walked back to his house. The suspect, a Bangladeshi national, has been arrested and is currently in police custody. According to authorities, the intruder targeted Saif's house for a burglary and was unaware of the actor's celebrity status.
