‘They came, they saw, they conquered’ are the three terms that one would use to describe the entry of two debutantes Imran Khan and Genelia Dsouza in the film Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na. Even though many years have passed since the film’s release, it remains fresh and relevant amongst the audiences across all ages.

While Genelia Dsouza got married to actor Riteish Deshmukh and is now doing busy with her real-life multiple roles of being a wife and a mother, Imran Khan, on the other hand, vanished (as he took a break from Bollywood) after his last film Katti Batti with Kangana Ranaut, which was released in the year 2015.

Of late, there were very strong rumours about Imran Khan making a much-wanted comeback in entertainment. And the project was to be a spy series with Abbas Tyrewala (who was also the director of Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na) was to direct. But recently, there was also buzz about the project being called off, with no clarity or confirmation whatsoever about it.

In a recent interview on Film Companion, when the show’s host Anupama Chopra asked Imran Khan about the said project, the actor did reveal its status. Imran Khan said that he was glad that they ended up not coming together. When asked about the reason to say so, the actor made no qualms in saying that he did not want to play a character who solves problems with a gun.

With this, Imran Khan’s much awaited and much talked about comeback still remains unclear, on the other hand, Genelia Dsouza, (now Deshmukh) who was his co-star of Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na, is now all set for a comeback with Aamir Khan’s film Sitaare Zameen Par. Besides the fact that she is playing a part in the film, not much has been known or revealed about her role in the film.

Watch this space for developments.
