Actor Deepika Padukone announced the arrival of her first child with her husband Ranveer Singh in September 2024. The actress has now disclosed that her pregnancy was complicated, mentioning that she encountered considerable challenges during her final trimester.

Deepika shares her experiences about her pregnancy

In a discussion with Marie Claire, Deepika spoke about her experience of pregnancy and motherhood, offering insights into her new life as a mother.

Dua was born in September 2024, but Deepika insists it feels like “just yesterday. ” She mentioned that her pregnancy was complicated, stating, “I went through a lot in the eight, nine months of being pregnant and delivery. ”

It is also revealed that Deepika and Ranveer chose the name Dua in November.

"I believe what was most significant for us was to initially hold the baby in our arms, let her experience this new world she has entered, and allow her personality to begin developing a little bit. . . It felt like a lovely summary of what she represents to us and why she holds that significance for us. "

Deepika is accustomed to living in the public spotlight. She has learned to handle the scrutiny that comes with parenting in the limelight, ignoring negativity and concentrating on what is most important. She desires to provide Dua with the same type of childhood she had, one “free from any expectation”.

Deepika and Ranveer welcomed their daughter on September 8, 2024. The couple married in 2018. Last year during Diwali, they introduced their daughter to the public, revealing her name, Dua Padukone Singh. They also shared the reasoning behind her name. The couple stated, “Dua: meaning a prayer. Because she is the answer to our prayers. Our hearts are filled with love and gratitude. ”

Regarding films, Ranveer has thrilling projects ahead, including Aditya Dhar's upcoming movie and Farhan Akhtar's Don 3. In the meantime, Deepika's next possible project may involve Shah Rukh Khan in the film King, although she has not officially confirmed it yet. Her most recent release was Nag Ashwin's sci-fi epic, Kalki 2898 AD.
